Overview

Aliquantum fabricates all its furniture products here in Perth. We only operate a fabrication facility, which is not safe for customers to visit for viewing of our products. In addition, we do not customarily work with other retailers, so the pricing we offer is factory direct, making our high-quality furniture surprisingly affordable.

Having supplied to many different locations in Perth, we realise that not all outdoor spaces are the same. Some are sheltered havens, while others may have a few challenges as far as the elements (sun or rain) are concerned. Our fabrication and design processes take this into account, and our methods of fabrication can be changed to suit the most challenging of conditions. Our aim here is to provide our customers with furniture that will have a long life in their outdoor area.

Sourcing the Timber

Every piece of furniture begins with the timber and sourcing is a process we take seriously.
Aliquantum uses both recycled and new materials, though reclaimed Jarrah and Rosewood are always our preference. We work closely with local suppliers, demolition companies, and private collectors to recover timber with history and character, often pieces that have been sitting under tiles or in storage for 50–60 years.

This reclaimed timber, often from the 1980s or earlier, has had decades to settle, making it incredibly stable and durable. We carefully inspect and store all timber at our Port Kennedy facility to ensure it’s protected from moisture, sunlight, and extreme temperatures.
Each board tells a story. The natural cracks, grains, and colour variations are celebrated rather than hidden, often enhanced with clear resin to highlight their unique beauty. The result is furniture that carries both craftsmanship and character: solid, sustainable, and distinctively Western Australian.

We offer an obligation and cost-free service where our designer comes to your home to assess the outdoor area and to work out a design that suits you and the conditions the furniture will be subjected to during its lifetime of service.

The design and fabrication method are fully discussed with you and will take into account your expectations and requirements, also including your busy lifestyle – as most of us are time poor – so maintenance capabilities are also discussed.

Our designs emphasise function, form, and longevity, ensuring that every joint, finish, and curve is built to endure Perth’s sun and coastal air. Many pieces incorporate resin inlays or grain highlights to showcase the individuality of the timber while protecting it from the elements.

Once the design has been established, a price is calculated and conveyed to you, our customer. If the price is acceptable, a 30% deposit is payable and fabrication of the furniture will commence.

It is usual that the time from your payment of the deposit to the readiness of your order is approximately 4 to 6 weeks. This estimate is subject to the availability of some materials and the size of the order.

Our fabrication process is fully hands-on. Each piece is cut, shaped, and finished by craftsmen who understand the nature of aged timber. Every crack, knot, or grain pattern is examined and reinforced for strength, ensuring the furniture performs beautifully for decades.

We offer complimentary delivery of our furniture to your home (Perth based). Other delivery arrangements can also be discussed.

Each item is securely wrapped and handled to preserve its finish. Upon delivery, we can provide advice on care and maintenance to help extend your furniture’s lifespan even further.

Why This Process Matters

By combining locally reclaimed timber, traditional craftsmanship, and modern fabrication methods, Aliquantum ensures every piece of furniture is more than just a product — it’s an investment in sustainability, style, and Western Australian heritage.

Frequently Asked Questions

We source our timber locally — from demolition projects, private collections, and small local suppliers across Perth. Much of our Jarrah is reclaimed from old homes and buildings, some over 50 years old, giving the timber incredible stability and character. Every piece is inspected and stored at our Port Kennedy facility until it’s ready to be handcrafted into furniture.

Around 95% of our work uses Jarrah, a Western Australian hardwood known for its strength, durability, and rich colour. We also work with Marri and Rosewood for clients looking for lighter tones or varied grain patterns, but Jarrah remains our signature material thanks to its resilience and local heritage.

While imported pine, acacia, or aluminium sets often fade, rust, or collapse within a few seasons, Jarrah offers:

  • Longevity – Many WA homes still feature Jarrah floors and frames that have lasted for decades.
  • Weight & Stability – Heavy builds won’t tip or blow over in open backyards or breezy terraces.
  • Premium Aesthetics – Rich natural hues and unique grain patterns complement both modern and heritage Mosman Park homes.
  • Low Maintenance – Finishes like hardwax oil allow for easy spot repairs, unlike polyurethane, which requires full refinishing.

Jarrah is more expensive upfront, but its durability makes it cheaper in the long run — it’s heirloom-grade furniture built to last a lifetime.

Once your design and deposit are finalised, most furniture takes around 4–6 weeks to complete. This timeline allows us to carefully prepare, assemble, and finish each piece by hand — ensuring exceptional quality and attention to detail every step of the way.

We use seasoned, high-density timbers like Jarrah and apply durable, weather-resistant finishes designed for Perth’s coastal climate. Each piece is built with traditional joinery that allows for natural timber movement, reducing the risk of splitting or loosening over time. The result is furniture that’s as beautiful as it is long-lasting.

Yes. In fact, using reclaimed Jarrah is one of the most eco-friendly choices. Much of our timber comes from demolished homes, old beams, and recycled construction materials. Once planed and refinished, these timbers reveal stunning colours and grains hidden beneath weathered exteriors. By reusing Jarrah, we reduce waste, prevent unnecessary tree felling, and preserve the legacy of WA’s most iconic hardwood.
